I picked up this graphic novel on a whim, due to the fact I enjoyed the artwork and I’m a fan of Boom! Box (The Backstagers, Lumberjane). Let me just say that this was an ecstatic find. Giant Days, follows the friendship of 3 university ladies (Susan, Esther and Daisy) who show opposites attract.

The trio help each other through different experiences that could be found in uni, such as social media, the flu, guys/girls…etc. Overall Giant Days: Volume One is a fun, whimsy, uplifting read that has sequels to follow. I highly recommend this if you are looking for am enjoyable read that will leave a smile on the face.

Synopsis: Susan, Esther, and Daisy started at university three weeks ago and became fast friends. Now, away from home for the first time, all three want to reinvent themselves. But in the face of hand-wringing boys, “personal experimentation,” influenza, mystery-mold, nu-chauvinism, and the willful, unwanted intrusion of “academia,” they may be lucky just to make it to spring alive. Going off to university is always a time of change and growth, but for Esther, Susan, and Daisy, things are about to get a little weird.
